A Visit From Esther

In March 2016, Esther was able to visit Elburgon and spend time with all her beloved Angels.

Welcome the New Class of 2016

On November 12th 2015, guardians showed up with needy children to interview for the 15 available positions for the class of 2016. It breaks one heart as you can only take so much at a time. We are happy to announce that our new class has arrived for 2016.

New Desks on Site

A local furniture store won the tender to build new individual desks for our school. They were delivered just in time for the new year.

Our Painted Wall

We now have a beautifully painted mural on our wall. We wish you all a very successful happy new year.

Survival Skills Weekend

In November, some of the kids had a camping experience at school with some teachers and boy/girl scout coaches from the Ministry of Sports Development. The kids learned about identifying fruits you can or can’t eat in the forest in case your food supply or water is not available as well as plants you can use for medicine. They also talked about having earthquake kits prepared and plans in mind in the event of an earthquake or other disaster.

Our New Construction is Completed

Thanks to very generous donors, we are very excited that our new construction enabling us to have elementary school level 6 classes is now finished. These level 6 classes will begin in 2016. Our goal is to add levels up to and including high school in the future.

Construction Update

We are very excited that our new construction is almost complete. We are doing the final touches and have also added a number of water tanks to collect rain water and some minor construction work to house our dogs.

Our Kids at Breakfast

On September 10th 2015, the loved kids and all the staff were treated to welcome breakfast, after reporting back from a two weeks summer holiday. Thank you friends, this is possible because of your generous Gifts.

Our New Building Is Coming

We are in the process of adding new classrooms to our school. Until the new classrooms are ready, some of our children are studying in temporary rooms. We will relocate them as soon as we can complete the new classrooms. Our donors have been kind enough to provide the funds required for this project, while still maintaining their monthly contribution that keeps the school running. The education system in Kenya is called 8 x 4 x 4, which is 8 years of elementary school, 4 years of high school and 4 years of college. Up to this point we have only had classes up to grade level 5. With additional classrooms we will be able to accommodate children up to grade level 8.

Computer’s Have Arrived

We are very excited that some computers have recently been donated to our school and the kids are excited. Our manager John went to Nakuru Town to pick up the computers and generator. This will provide an opportunity for the children to become computer literate thereby enabling them to further develop and advance their learning. The sky is the limit for our children.
